Sliding Gates

The sliding gate is one of the most commonly used automatic gates in light-duty commercial applications. Mounted parallel to the inside, it slides horizontally back and forth across the opening. It uses rollers that ride along a track. This type of sliding gate is sometimes also called “rolling gates” or “v-track gates”.

As it uses rollers that run along the ground, said rollers might be blocked by debris or other materials. It can also be a source of friction that makes the operator work harder to make the gate function. These issues prompt some gate manufacturers to discourage the use of sliding gate.
